Il est révélé au grand public en 2000, en composant avec Keren Ann l'album d'Henri Salvador, Chambre avec vue qui comprend notamment la chanson Jardin d'hiver. Benjamin Biolay est récompensé par 6 victoires de la musique : l'album révélation de l'année pour Rose Kennedy en 2002, l'interprète masculin de l'année et l'album de chansons pour La Superbe en 2010, Palermo Hollywood en 2017 et en 2021 l'interprète masculin et l'album de l'année pour Grand Prix.
