Emma Roberts je zaslovela z glavno vlogo, vlogo Addie Singer, v televizijski seriji Unfabulous. S to vlogo je tudi pritegnila medijsko pozornost. Septembra 2005 je izdala svoj prvi glasbeni album, ki je med drugim vseboval tudi soundtracke iz prej omenjene televizijske serije, naslovila pa ga je kot Unfabulous and More. Tako je začela s svojo samostojno glasbeno kariero, kasneje pa je izdala še dva soundtracka za filma Ledena princesa in Aquamarine (v katerem je imela tudi sama eno izmed glavnih vlog).
